Welcome

Hi! I’m Jen, and I am passionate about making things happen in the real world. My work revolves around evidence-based policy research, impactful program design, and strategic partnerships.

In mu current role at the Immigration Policy Lab (IPL), I manage refugee research and policy design programs and am based in the San Francisco Bay Area. My focus at the Lab as a Program Manager is on leading and implementing a portfolio of data-driven refugee and immigrant integration projects called GeoMatch in partnership with governments and organizations around the world. I am dedicated to evidence-based policymaking and program design, and work with our partners to rigorously test impact to inform our understanding of how we can improve newcomer integration and well-being (see my recent piece on our work here).

Prior to joining IPL, I earned my Master’s degree in International Policy at Stanford University and my Bachelor’s degree in Political Economy (International Development) at the University of California, Berkeley. My previous work has been at the Omidyar Network, Goldman Sachs, and the International Rescue Committee.

I was born in Osaka, Japan and grew up in Vancouver, Canada. In my free time, I enjoy hiking and photography on the beautiful California coast (see below), global culinary tourism, and the pursuit of mindfulness through meditation and yoga. I am a registered yoga teacher (Yoga Alliance RYT-200 certification) and enjoy teaching online classes to my community.
